Growing the Future is an exploration and celebration of food growing in Auckland, from April 17-27, at Silo6, Wynyard Quarter, Auckland. INCLUDING: * Exhibition of 'Workers in Dirt', a documentary style series of paintings depicting people working in community and small market gardens, and other heroes of the food growing movement, by Auckland artist Jean Stewart. * Urban edible garden installation designed and created by students from Unitec's department of landscape design. * Growing participatory garden art project coordinated by Sue Clark from Art at Work. Bookings welcome from schools and groups. * Plant a Seed - Grow a Garden. Make your own newspaper pot and plant a seed to take home for your own edible garden. * Produce and seed trading table. * Film screening: 'Gardening with Soul' on Friday 24 April @ 8pm * Small Bites: An evening of short talks from Aucklanders bringing a fresh perspective to growing food, on Thursday 23 April @ 7pm. * Produce and Information Market Day, Saturday 18 April 10am-1pm.
